The article examines the state of a naval judicial office in the judicial system of the Russian Empire. The competence of naval courts at the end of XIX century is considered. Despite the fact that there were three judicial offices and each had its own characteristics, the author has come to the conclusion that the judicial system of the Russian Empire maintained a relative unity.
