The article considers the driver as an important element of the forensic characterization of crimes against traffic safety and transport operation based on the analysis of literary sources, materials of the practice of law enforcement bodies activities and judicial practice. The role of the forensic characteristics of such an element in the detection and investigation of this type of crime is determined.
