DMAIC methodology elements implementation in organization’s processes efficiency improvement project activity

This article deals with the planning and implementation of the organization's project activities aimed at improving its processes. The standard GOST R ISO 13053-1-2015 «Statistical methods. Quantitative methods in process improvement - Six Sigma. Part 1: DMAIC methodology» as well as a number of thematic publications and other publicly available literary sources are used as a theoretical basis. The object of the study is the complex high-tech production photo and video monitoring process. The peculiarities of this process organization by lean production manager using tools of project activity are the subject of current study. The problem investigated in this material is the competent project opening justification preparation using the principle of project approach and quality management tools. The causes for chosen process integration in production and scientific production enterprises practices are considered as well as the ways and means of its realization, problems and constraints that have to be dealt with during the process implementation. The practical part of this article contains explanatory note elements examples to a project in the field of lean manufacturing according to the DMAIC methodology. The illustrations of the quality management methods application and AllFusion ERWin Process Modeler process modeling tool are used to ensure the visual clarity. On the basis of the process under consideration, the applicability of DMAIC in improvement project is shown. An example of the project justification and its passport preparation is proposed.
