The influence of the developed price situation on food products in the consumer market of the Volgograd region in 2004-2009 on the future price policy is revealed and considered. The characteristics of the consumer market of the Volgograd region for this period, dynamics of change of the prices for the basic goods consumed by the population, and its influence on strategy of development of the region are given.
