The article discusses the delineation of the physical evidence and other documents stipulated in the criminal procedure legislation as a separate type of evidence. Its relevance is not in doubt, as still there is no official interpretation of the rules on these sources of evidence. The author points out the distinctive features of each of the considered categories and also specifies the grounds on which they are drawn.
