«The great break» in the context of modern Russian and regional historiography

The paper analysis the modern historiography on the problem of the collectivization of the rural peasantry in the USSR. The author considers the process of shaping and the development of the regional historiography on this subject. The main concepts of these events in the early 1930s in the recent historical studies are shown.
