Natural resources management in the transborder territories

Natural resources are part of the natural ecological system, which have spatial and territorial boundaries that do not coincide with the borders of states. Transboundary (shared) natural resources have a special status, since as they are located in the territory of two or more states (water bodies, mineral deposits, etc). One of the mechanisms for regulating the use and protection of the natural resources in transboundary territories is the bilateral and multilateral international cooperation. The Russian Federation has accumulated experience in the management of individual natural resources in transboundary territories. The authors examine the international agreements of the Russian Federation in the field of natural resources use and protection in transboundary territories.
