Socio-psychological and criminological nature of mass protests is of very significant scientific interest. Social media sources are full of news featuring protests with thousands of participants (rallies, processions, marches, demonstrations, flashmobs, etc.) in the world’s biggest cities. However, even a quick look at the events is enough to realize that not all the participants of protests aim at a dialogue with authorities, at unaggressive, constructive discussion of urgent issues. Based on the analysis of Russian and foreign sources, the article details personal characteristics of citizens representing the greatest public danger during street demonstrations in connection with their aggressiveness and intolerance. Destructive activity of such individuals includes violence, hooliganism, other people's property destruction, vandalism. The author attempts to typologize representatives of various groups of protesters, depending on the severity of their negative and positive individual personal attitudes, moral qualities and motives. In addition to this, the author takes into account the antisocial orientation, the nature of their illegal acts.
