Typological features of sensorimotor systems of youth specializing in canoeing

The aim of the work was to study the physiological characteristics of the adaptation of sensormotor system of young men specializing in rowing and canoeing, depending on the somatic type. The study involved 28 highly skilled athletes, specializing in rowing and canoeing. We used a simple visual-motor reaction, the reaction to a moving object, the reaction of choice and differentiation to determine the functional characteristics of the sensormotor system. Anthropometric measures were taken by the classical method of V.V. Bunak and original method of R.N. Dorokhova. As a result of the comprehensive study of sensorimotor reactions and body type of young men of high qualification, specializing in rowing and canoeing it was defined features of speed and lability of the nervous centers, steadiness of nerve processes. It was identified the main somatic types according to the dimensional level of the variation and variations of biological development. It was carried out the analysis of the relationship of features of the functional state of the sensorimotor system and somatotype. According to the results of correlation analysis it was found that the indices of simple and complex sensorimotor reactions of athletes were associated with body type. It was revealed negative correlation with somatic type; therefore, a high rate of dimensional level of the variation corresponds to a decrease in the rate of sensorimotor response. The obtained results are of interest in terms of sports selection in rowing and canoeing at the stage of profound sports specialization.
