“Teratological” novel by C. J. Vallgren “Clairvoyant” in the era of (post) post-modernism

The article raises the problem of the novel “Clairvoyant” (Horrific Sufferings of the Mind-Reading Monster Hercules Barefoot: His Wonderful Love and His Terrible Hatred, 2002) by C.J. Vallgren for literature (post) post-modernism, which is characterized by the principles of postmodern poetics connection with the production of ethical issues. For this purpose examines the genre and intertextual nature of the novel, the text belonging to the “teratological” literature and the type of marginal character, since the text includes elements of Baroque, French “violent romanticism” and methods of German literature XVIII-XIX centuries; along with this work reveals genre and aesthetic allusions to P. Suskind novel “Perfume”, but Swedish author demonstrates the change of ethical perspective and argues the need for individual spiritual resurrection.
