The aim of the work is to use the development of the theory of sustainability as the fundamental basis of national forestry and silviculture, to show the possibility of separating forest areas of the main forest-forming species of recreational use according to their degree of stability and to determine the prospects for their formation during the natural course of development.The data on determining the state of the main forest species under various recreational and man-made loads in the Serebryanoborsky experimental forest area of the Institute of Forest Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which constitute the green belt of Moscow, are given. The distribution and influence on the condition of trees and trees stands of the pine Peridermium pini and Heterobasidion annosum in of natural and artificial origin are considered.
