The paper is a part of the research of Bavaria trauma in Lion Feuchtwanger‘s -Success‖. The writer‘s complex attitude to Bavaria included both love and revulsion. It is expressed in the novel by means of the image of the Bavarians‘ enormous (surplus) body. We analyze surplus physicality of Johanna Krain and Paul Hessreiter. This type of physicality is proved to be related to the Bavarian identity. We also stress axiological meaning of body images. These surplus body images show Lion Feuchtwanger‘s relationship to his native country.
