SWOT-analysis as a tool for assessing the socio-economic development of municipalities

The mechanism of SWOT analysis of the socio-economic development of the municipality is disclosed. SWOT analysis is considered as a method of strategic planning, which consists in identifying the results of the interaction of factors internal and external environment of the socio-economic development of the municipality and their division into four categories: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The role of questioning and assessing the opinions of various respondents (population, entrepreneurs, authorities, public organizations) to confirm the authenticity of statistical data within the framework of identifying strengths and weaknesses, as well as opportunities and threats at the meso level.
