Imagination refers to mental cognitive processes, a form of reflection of reality, capable of transforming existing ideas to create new images. Active imagination determines the arbitrary occurrence of fantasies, picturing images that do not exist in reality at the moment. Emotions cause images of outside of reality and critical control. The cognitive component restores the critical control of thinking in view of objective reality. Fantasy is considered as one of the mechanisms of "primitive" psychological defenses, which allows us to weaken the emotional tension due to external and internal conflicts in the loss of communication between imagination and reality. Depressed mood that narrows the range of affective response to gloomy states ensures the development of suicidal fantasies. And visa versa, the content of fantasies can change the emotional state. Another important question that rises is the relationship between the terms "suicidal thoughts" and "suicidal fantasies"...
