The data survey 406 cancer patients with suicidal behavior and the results of a survey of oncologists 107. It is shown that the basis of suicidal behavior in patients with advanced cancer are the motives of somatic distress (88,9%). Most of the patients directly (37,8%) or indirectly (41,5%) reported their suicidal tendencies, and sought an opportunity to speak on this topic. 61,7% of oncologists believe that the active detection of suicidal ideation may provoke suicide, but 82,5% of patients indicated that an open, confidential discussion on the topic of suicide has helped to improve their health. At the utterance of suicidal thoughts, 58,8% of physicians are actively urging patients to irrationality of this release. Most oncologists assess the possibility of negative physician assistance in suicide (74, 8%) and euthanasia (55,1%).
