NR2B-containing NMDA (NR2B / NMDA) receptors are important for the control of neurogenesis and are involved in the mechanisms of long-term spatial memory. It was reported that the Ro25-698- selective antagonist of the NR2B subunit of the NMDA receptor activates neurogenetic processes and spatial memory in retraining. However, mechanisms, in particular, genetic ones, with the help of which these processes influence the formation of memory, have not been established. It has been shown that pharmacological manipulation with Ro25-698 i.p.in dose 5,0 mg/kg induces structural activation of the pro-apoptotic gene TP53 in adult rats, indicating that blockage of the NR2B subunit of NMDAR is associated with the structural-differential initiation of the apoptotic signal initially in the pre-frontal cortex, hippocampus and cerebellum.
