Structure of the coniferous broad-leaved old-age floodplain forests due to the questions of their dynamics

On the basis of researches the canopy structure and population ontogenetic accounting of forest forming types in the old-age floodplain forests (Mari El Republic) the assessment of prospects of their renewal and dynamics of populations is made. The most safe forest-former is the linden, its population loci stabilize the forest communities, thanks to fast development under canopy windows and high life expectancy subsequently. In the conditions of universal distribution of a linden there are few prerequisites for self-maintenance of other broad-leaved and dark-coniferous forest-formers.
