Comparative legal analysis of criminal penalties applied in various periods of the development of the Russian state

The article is devoted to the study of criminal penalties in different periods of the Russian state. The article analyzes the sources of criminal penalties and their application. A comparison of past and current criminal legislation is carried out. The ideology of the application of criminal penalties is analyzed. It is proposed to amend the modern Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The relevance lies in comparing the type and measure of punishments for criminal acts in different periods of the Russian state and analyzing the development of the institution of criminal law.
