Social technologies in the sphere of legal protection of elderly people

The protection of elderly people from criminal abuse is one of the pressing problems of modern criminology. Of course, the growing attention to the problems of old age, the modernization of the entire sphere of social services for elderly people, the creation of optimal conditions for fulfilling the needs of pensioners are integral signs of a democratic rule-of-law state. When studying these issues special attention is paid to the data of a socio-psychological study of the personality of victims of retirement age who applied for comprehensive assistance (legal, socio-psychological, medical, etc.) to social institutions in St. Petersburg. At the same time, the main directions of social work and specific corrective measures, social technologies that help to reduce the level of victimity of elderly people attract attention. In criminology, social, special and individual levels of victimological preventive work are traditionally distinguished. The value aspect of victimological preventive care, aimed at representatives of older age groups of the population, involves the recognition of high social significance of human life, regardless of age.
