Modern approaches to therapy of patients with papillomavirus genital infections

Resume: Lesions of the integumentary epithelium and mucous membranes caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), as well as the diseases associated with it, are currently in the focus of attention of both practical doctors and specialists in theoretical areas of medical science and healthcare. This is quite naturally explained by the large number of HPVs counting more than 100 serotypes, their species and tissue specificity, the peculiarities of the virion life cycle and the nature of its interaction with target cells, which determine a significant variety of clinical manifestations of human papillomavirus infection (PVI) and its outcome and prognosis variability.
