Modern world trends of sports training in boxing (review of foreign literature)

Relevance. High-quality information support of training of competitive Russian athletes is impossible without organization of a system of regular monitoring, selection, analytical processing and systematization of publications of the leading foreign coaches, scientists and specialists. Research aim is the identification of topical issues, collection and analysis of factual information from foreign studies on various aspects of training of high-class athletes in boxing. Research methods. Analysis of literary sources. Research results. In this review, as a result of the search, selection and analysis of foreign sources of scientific and methodological information, published in 20162020, the main trends, concerning the biomechanics of motor actions (motor performance model of straight blows have been determined; indicators of muscle strength and maximum spin moments, asymmetry of blow execution and stability parameters), physical development of high class boxers (upward trend in anthropometric indicators; predictability of resulting quality; model indicators of women-boxers up to 75 kg), features of their training process (training programs for boxers of the national teams of Brazil and Korea; accelerated acclimatization program of amateur boxers from the USA; level change of working capacity of boxers of the UK national team before entering the ring; the effect of fatigue on coordination ability; skill level computer visualization method), competitive activity (characteristics of the competitive activity of boxers during the Olympic Games) and psychological preparation (the role of self-efficacy, self-control of aggressive behavior of boxers; psychological characteristics of athletes of national and regional levels, as well as prize-winners and unsuccessful athletes), conducted by scientists from Australia, Brazil, UK, Hong Kong, India, Spain, Qatar, China, Korea, New Zealand, Poland, USA, Thailand, Turkey, France and Chile. Conclusion. The material obtained as a result of the search, selection and analysis of foreign sources of scientific and methodological information, concerning various aspects of training of high-class athletes in boxing is advisable to use in the work of the Olympic Training Center, Sports Training Center, sports schools, in the educational process of universities of physical education and in the system of advanced training of coaches.
