The article deals with the main methods of improving the skills of library employees in the field of public relations (study of social networks, the method of cases, training and business game). The main goals of training as a method of experimental training in the field of public relations are considered. The method of business games and its connection with experimental competitive training, which creates the necessary level of motivation for studying public relations, is analyzed. The article describes the system of regulating the business game, as well as the knowledge and skills obtained by library employees in training and business games; the role of the method of situational problems in the joint analysis of the situation and the development of a practical solution, combined with the choice of an optimal algorithm for solving the problem, is shown. The paper presents the subjects of information representation in the methodology of situational tasks, their classification by type of training, stages of decision-making, novelty of the situation and levels of decision-making. The advantages and disadvantages of the proposed methods, restrictions on their application, and the role of the methods used in fixing the previously studied theoretical material are given. The article describes the sources of material used for practical training; shows the role of practical training in improving the creative potential of students, the holistic perception of professional tasks, increasing the level of professional motivation, the development of observation and research skills.
