An improvement of the pulsating flow test method for positive displacement pumps

Бесплатный доступ

This article provides a way to improve existing methods of testing positive displacement pumps. Positive displacement pumps are widely used in various industries: chemical, oil, gas, food, etc. Therefore various methods of testing are used: methods of accelerated tests for reliability, accelerated methods of comparative testing and others. Testing methods for positive displacement pumps by pulsating fluid flows have a great influence on determining the dynamic characteristics of the pump as the oscillation source (both flow and pressure), on the creation of accelerated methods for equivalent resource test, on the fine-tuning of existing and creating new designs pumps. This study examined the model as the equivalent power consumption and equivalent pressure fluctuations sources, which experimented with different hydraulic systems, different input impedances. Analysis of the results showed that the most promising is the pump tests with a reactive load, which can be implemented in lumped and distributed parameters. For the equivalent of accelerated tests to assess the pumps life and fatigue strength of main units are test methods that implement the highest levels of vibrations to reduce the duration and cost of testing.
