The article presents a brief analysis of the results of a study on assessing the impact of the pandemic on the state of small business conducted by the NAFI analytical center in March 2021, and also identifies priority areas and forms of state support for small businesses in the conditions of overcoming the current crisis. The consequences of the forced restriction of the activities of most small businesses, which affected a number of sectors of the regional economy, caused by the need to counter the spread of the viral disease in 2020 and partly in 2021, manifested themselves in adverse consequences for business, jeopardizing the preservation and further development of most economic entities. To date, despite the fact that the economic life of the country is gradually returning to its normal rhythm with some restrictions, many entrepreneurs representing small businesses still face a number of difficulties that threaten the possibility of its full recovery and do not expect to restore the situation within the next two to three years.
