Social aspects of Russian privatization of the 1990's in modern historiography

The article examines the point of view on social problems of privatization in Russia that exist in Russian and foreign literature. The author concludes that opinions on privatization in Russian literature differ mostly due to ideological beliefs of the authors and that there is a consensus of Russian neo-liberal authors and foreign researchers in assessing the origins of privatization, while some division exists in assessing its social consequences.
