Social significance of the road law of Gaius Gracchus (II century B.C.)

The article carries out analysis of contents and ends of the Gaius Gracchus Road Law. Particularly, the author shows that this law played a substantial social role in Rome. By means of comparative interpretation of a number of epigraphic and literary sources in the article is reconstructed the pattern of making of special «road villages», the legal status of its inhabitants and the place of all these measures inside the social reform package of Gaius Gracchus.
