Socio-psychological aspects of adolescent victimogenesis in social media

The article considers modern authors’ views on the causes, manifestations and mechanisms of adolescent victimization in the virtual realm of the Internet and social media. The author reveals the role of a significant change in the conditions of socialization of adolescents, due to the scientific and technological revolution, digitalization, the COVID-19 pandemic, the formation of a kind of virtual culture, which entails a change in interactive capabilities, principles and style of interpersonal interaction. Based on the use of the explanatory possibilities of the concept of the stages of personalization during the period of formation of the personality of adolescents, the patterns, mechanisms, phenomena and typology of deficits in the personal functioning of adolescents, which determine (entrain) various types of their victimization are revealed.
