The article is devoted to the analysis of the social conception developed by Z.N. Gippius and D.S. Merezhkovsky who took an active part in the intellectual and social life of the early 20th century Russia. The author traces main sources, evolution and attempts to realize Z.N. Gippius and D.S. Merezhkovsky's social ideal, investigates their understanding of universal historic process, events of Russian revolutions and their interpretations of various forms of socio-political structure.
