The results of evaluating the effectiveness of using sorbents of shungite and zeolite for wastewater treatment from treatment facilities are presented. For this purpose, wastewater samples were passed through the layers of a schungite-zeolite filter, after which their physical and chemical properties, sanitary and microbiological parameters, and the content of toxic elements were evaluated. It was found that the initial wastewater samples for most of the analyzed indicators did not meet the established standards. After wastewater treatment using a schungite-zeolite filter, positive shifts were noted in most of the evaluated indicators. At the same time, there was a decrease in odor, turbidity and color to the maximum permissible level. The content of active chlorine, chlorides, and iron decreased by 94.1; 97.5 and 97.6 %, respectively. The concentration of ammonium ions decreased by 99.9 % with a significant excess of this indicator in the original sample. The amount of toxic elements in the studied samples did not exceed the maximum permissible concentrations. The total microbial number of samples of the initial wastewater was 4.2x106 CFU / cm3, the number of staphylococci was 3.4x102 CFU / cm3, the bacteria index of the group of Escherichia coli was more than 10,000 microbial cells / l. After filtration, the total microbial number of the studied wastewater samples was 6.0x10 ; pathogenic microflora was not detected, the index of bacteria of the group of Escherichia coli is less than 10 cells / l. It is shown that the use of natural sorbents of shungite and zeolite contributes to a significant improvement in the quality of wastewater according to most of the analyzed parameters, including microbiological ones.
