The article deals with the issues connected with confirmation of the hypotheses about positive influence of a chess game on development of the intellectual culture of the society. The author comes to a conclusion that the skills of intellectual activity which characterize a chess game can become the most requested by decision of the tasks on development of modern intellectual culture of a personality and the society.
