Features of development of knowledge of schoolchildren with visual impairment in the field of physical culture and sport are considered in the article. Search of the efficient ways for forming of disabled childrens interests, needs shall be an actual field of specialists activity. One of the ways of the decision of the said problems can become the realization of disabled children of the necessity of the reception of knowledge in the field of athletic training, on base of which interest to peculiarities of the development of its organism, health and ways of its preservation is formed. The aim of the research was a study of knowledge level of 8-11 forms pupils with visual impairment in the field of theories and methods of the physical culture and Olympic movement on initial stage of the organizations of profile training in physical culture. 98 pupils of 8-11 forms of special (correction) schools № 75 and № 87 for children with visual impairment (3-4 types) took part in the investigation. The results of the conducted study have revealed the average level of the knowledge in the field of physical culture and sport at 8-10 forms pupils with visual impairment and level below average at 11 form pupils.
