The author of the paper considers the possibilities of the institutional impact of such literary genre as of novel of education on the community of the readers. In this paper are compared the genre features of the novel of education and the structural elements of a social institution. The author of this research reveals the mechanism of functioning of the novel of education as an institution of socialization.
