Role of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian empire in the administration of Rranscaucasia in the early 19th century

The role of the ministry in the administration of Transcaucasia in the first quarter of the XIX century is being studied. A historical and legal excursion is conducted and the activities of the Ministry are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the consideration of the issue of the Ministry's performance of social functions in the region, as well as to various points of view of the tsarist officials who sent an intention to the Caucasian policy. Historical and legal facts describing the practical results of the ministry's activities in the province are described. Based on legal documents, a grounded author's position on the role of the department in integrating the region into the all-imperial space is proposed.
