This article covers the role the Russian diplomatic and consular service in Eastern countries played in the regulation of Russian foreign trade in the first third of the XIX century. The author analyzes some documents of Russian diplomats which contain characteristics of Russia's economic and trade relations with adjacent Asian states and the economic situation in their countries of residence.
