Ritual aspect of khural and circuit of Maitreya in Buryat datsans

The author considers the ritual nature of the rite of Maitreya, a future Buddha, analyzes its features in the early period on the base of historical sources and nowadays. The article reveals the trends in the growth of religiosity among the population in the modern context, and determines its causes.
