Based on research, the paper shows the importance of the personnel assessment system in the organization. The value and importance of the personnel assessment system in the business reality becomes a priority task in human resource management. At the same time, a number of companies still assign less priority to this important problem, therefore reducing the effectiveness of all activities aimed at developing and retaining qualified personnel. Considered on the example of the LLC "MC - Irkutsk" personnel assessment system, the main shortcomings were identified. For a more detailed study of the company’s personnel assessment procedure, the survey was conducted by means of a sample questionnaire of the company's employees.
