Results of the study of the business environment of the Dnieper-Dvina region

In December 2019, the Union State of Russia and Belarus celebrated 20 years. It is relevant to analyze the impact of the changed economic conditions due to interstate integration on the business environment of border regions. The article presents the results of the activities of organizations and individual entrepreneurs of the Russian-Belarusian border area, the change in which is indirectly related to the influence of the integration factor. For the analysis, the Smolensk, Vitebsk and Mogilev regions (Dnepro-Dvinsky region) were selected - regions that are transit, near-capital and border regions. The positive and negative aspects of the influence of these factors on the business environment of the region are presented. The results obtained are based on interviews that were conducted from 2019 to 2020 and covered 90 entrepreneurs operating in the Dnipro-Dvinsky region. The article presents both generalized results of interviews and individual assessments of changes in the business environment. Describes the topical, in the opinion of entrepreneurs, characteristics of the business climate, barriers to their development and entry into the markets of neighbour regions. Regularities of changes in the parameters of the business environment of the Dnieper-Dvinsky region as a result of the implementation of the stages of integration between Russia and Belarus have been established.
