The results of roentgenological and histological studying distraction osteogenesis in 25 mongrel dogs are demonstrated. The post-resection defect of leg bones in the dogs, amounting to 20,9±0,3 % of the initial segmental length, was filled due to making double-level lengthening of distal tibial fragment under disordered magistral blood flow in the fragment lengthened. The disorder of the blood flow along the nutrient artery bed in the fragments transported determined the low activity of endosteal osteogenesis, periosteal bone structures mainly took part in distraction osteogenesis. The prolonged absence of adequate magistral blood flow determined the active reorganization of the fragments transported, which consisted in demineralization of the bone tissue of non-free autografts, and also the hypolastic type of osteogenesis during formation of distraction regenerated bones
