Age roentgenoanatomic peculiarities of the lower limb long tubular bones were studied in 50 patients with achondroplasia at the age of 4-17 years. The results demonstrated that in patients with achondroplasia the values of body length and weight at birth are within the limits of those in normal children, however, the indices of length are not more than miimal ones. Below the age of 4 years the development of the lower limb bones doesn't differ from that of normal children with the exception of the fact, that have more marked funnel-like metaphyseal deformity. The ossification processes in patients with achondroplasia are variable considerably. The development of ossification points of long tubular bones is in some cases within the normal limits and in other cases it is beyond these limits. In the process of the lower limb bone development the funnel-like metaphyseal deformity is done levelling.
