The paper publishes a digital model of the D'yakovo hillfort relief and its vicinity produced by photogrammetric processing of the aerial photography images made by a drone. These data were compared with images of the hillfort on old topographic maps. This comparison was used to make a conclusion on high precision of the site image on the 1838 map and authenticity of the circular earth rampart, now 50 % lost which is shown on the map. It is suggested to interpret this rampart (rather its crest) as a mound of the 17th century around an amusement town. It is also inferred from this analysis that the hillfort relief has changed very much over the past two centuries and that intensive erosion processes have occurred on its slopes. It is suggested that follow-up field excavations in the low-lying flood-prone area at the foot of the hillfort look promising.
