The last decades in the world were marked by intensive development of minimally invasive spinal neurosurgery. One of the most frequently performed operations is lumbar microdiscectomy. However, successful surgical intervention is only the first stage in the treatment program, further restoration directly depends on the rehabilitation program carried out in the early rehabilitation period. The mode of physical activity, physical, psychological and medicamentous components of the complex program of restorative treatment contribute to best regression of clinical and functional disorders in this group of patients. Rehabilitation in the early postoperative period is aimed at arresting the pain syndrome, recovery of volume of movements in the spine, regression of sensory and motion disorders, psychological adaptation and improvement of the quality of life. Currently, there is a large number of studies devoted to the prob lem of rehabilitation after lumbar microdiscectomy. Nevertheless, there is no general approach to the timing, intensity and components of the rehabilitative treatment program for this group of patients. The aim of the work is to determine the current state and prospective areas of research in the field of restorative treatment of patients after lumbar microdiscectomy. The materials of the study were articles in specialized databases, such as Sciencedirect, Springerlink, PubMed, Web of Sience, Cyberleninka, eLIBRARY. The methods of the study were theoretical analysis, generalization and systematization of scientific literary sources.
