This article describes the design of the device for controlling the color fastness of leather to friction. The device is designed for inspection of color fastness on the finished shoes and leather products. The analysis of methods and devices for controlling of color fastness of leather to friction was conducted. The influence of the main metrological parameters of known devices was studied. The actuality of the problem of the leather color fastness control on the finished shoes and leather products is shown. The intensity of staining of adjacent textile materials was investigated. The parameters of the technical specifications for the design of the new device were defined. A new design of the device and method of testing were developed.
