Excavations on the site Stary Moskovsky Trakt-3

The mound No. 1 of the object of cultural heritage Stary Moskovsky Trakt-3 was investigated by West Siberian detachment in the frames of the Neolithic burial-memorial complexes finding project. The site is situated in 3.48 km southeast from the center of the village Vengerovo, in a birch forest. The excavation area comes to 81 m2. Several objects were studied in its borders. One of them is the boundary post remain of the end of XIX - beginning of the XX centuries, the others are pits. In the central part of the excavation area there was found the burial. It was disturbed in ancient times. There were found fragments of long bones and skull bones. The implements are represented by the bronze arrow point. The results of the research show that the central burial and the mound construction belong to the Early Iron Age. These objects are located in the area of the settlement complex of the earlier time, probably the Early Bronze Age. The pits also are referred to this earlier period.
