Spatial aspect of marking activity of ordinary beaver (Castor fiber L.) in river bedded type settlements

In article data about spatial housing of various types smell notches of ordinary beaver (Castor fiber L.) are analyzed. It is established, that the greater number of alarm hills and areolases of active labeling belongs to peripheral zones of settlements (64,0% and 97,6% - accordingly). Parameters of updating the marking places decrease in a line: periph-eral zone - central zone - intermediate zone. The share of notches on periphery does not depend on their position in relation to the territorial center of populated space and distances up to adjacent settlement. High marking activity of tracks-transitions is connected with necessity of effective utilization of space and reflex reaction on appearing, at fall of water level in the river, new elements of settlement. The revealed housing of marking activity traces of beavers on spatial zones allows to consider peripheral sites as functional contours, basic which purpose of existence is ordering intraspecific interactions of beavers within the limits of population. The negligible share of all types notches and their minimal updating is noted in intermediate zone that proves its allocation.
