Prognosing psychological effects of earlier children professionalisation in sport: theoretical reasons

Possibilities of prognosing psychological consequences of earlier professionalisation of young sportsmen are examined in the article. These prognosing possibilities are based on the comparison of main directions of psychical development, marked out by D. Elkonin, and they also prove the fact that any sport activity influences the psychical development. There are empirical data confirming the positive influence of earlier professionalisation of young sportsmen if it contributes to the realization of the main direction of psychical development. Negative consequences of such professionalisation are connected with the complication of the realization of the main direction described above.
