Challenges and ways to improve local district police chief activity

Introduction: the article is devoted to problematic issues in the organization of the service activities of a divisional police commissioner and the development of proposals to overcome them. Materials and Methods: the material basis of the study was the current normative legal acts. Cognitive procedures of system analysis, a comprehensive approach to the problem under consideration, formal-logical methods (analysis, synthesis), as well as the statistical method, which includes the collection and analysis of data on the organization of the activities of police departments, were used. Results: the author identifies some problematic issues in the organization of activities of district police commissioner; indicates, in his opinion, the main reasons for the emergence of circumstances that hinder the activities of district police commissioner; proposes measures to optimize operational and service activities of district police commissioner. Discussion and Conclusions: the author concludes that in order to achieve an effective work of authorized district police officers, optimal functioning of divisions of authorized district police officers in the long term, as well as to increase the level of public confidence in the police, it is necessary to take urgent organizational and legal measures to stimulate the formation of human resources in these units, increasing the interest of staff in achieving high rates of service activity.
