The article reveals the existing difficulties and defines the prospects of regional tourist space organization in modern conditions. The recommendations concerning tourist zones design are presented. The article shows that the proposed organization of regional tourist complex will contribute to the creation of competitive tourist-recreation cluster. The problem is addressed in the case of the Vologda Oblast.
