In recent years, the problem of the accession of Siberia to Russia is again in the center of attention of researchers. This is connected not so much with the series of jubilee celebrations, but rather with a turn towards a more balanced approach, taking into account the complexity and controversy of relations between Russian explorers and settlers with the indigenous people of Siberia during the period of its accession.
