The paper presents the assessment of the investment attractiveness of the tourist sphere of the Vologda Oblast, and determines the main investment areas of regional tourism. The authors considered the possibility of forming a special economic zone of tourist-recreational type in the region. The socio-economic impact of the project of a special economic zone of tourist in the region is given.
