The individuality principle in Schleiermacher's hermeneutics

The problem to be discussed in this article is the way individuality is treated in Romantic hermeneutics in the historical context of the last decade of the 18th century. Our view is opposed to a rather common opinion according to which the Romantic thinking is based on so-called subjective idealism - prejudice that even nowadays prevents us from seeing Schleiermacher's quite specific vision of individuality.
